Runner KIM (18) is on the brink of qualifiying for an international competition when her sponsors demand she take a test to verify her gender. The doubt cast on her biological sex throws the teenager in an identity crisis and growing social isolation. Third Place is a coming-of-age film that reflects on the role and impact of gender norms.
